I always complain about not being able to find ingredients here in Utah, but funny enough, I see key limes at the grocery store all of the time!! I never knew I was so lucky!

What a beautiful pie! That’s my oldest son favorite dessert! I skip the egg yolks for the filling and it works great. Have a great weekend!

Wow! What a gorgeous pie. I have one tasty recipe that uses a bit more lime juice. Take a peek, if you’re interested:

Deborah, I’m so jealous that you have key limes available! Maybe someday I’ll stumble across some in a local store, and maybe by then I won’t care how much they cost! :)

Cris, thanks for the tip on the egg yolks!

Les, thanks for the link to your recipe. You have a lovely tall pie! It sounds like it would be nice and light with the creme fraiche.

  5. This is perfect for me – living in the UK I’ve never even seen a key lime, but I LOVE the pie! I must give this a go.

omg that looks so good. I’m gonna put it on my MyGrub blog

  7. I tried commenting yesterday but couldn’t – this pie is fantastic, Andrea! I love limes.

I recently came across a website called “Melissa’s – Delivering the Global Market”. I’ve heard some pretty good reviews about it. The link directly to their key limes is http://www.melissas.com/catalog/index.cfm?Product_id=465&Info=NO, if you’re interested!!

Thanks, Patricia! And Tina, thanks for the tip for buying key limes online. I may have to give that a try.

  10. Jerry says:

So sorry for your trouble of finding key limes. I have no problems finding them here in Texas. Like you I like a tart key lime pie, always extra lime juice to give it a kick. When you’re craving another key lime pie, I guess you can get limes shipped.

  11. Deborah says:

i just made a tart using your filling recipe. It was fantastic!!

  12. Andrea says:

Deborah: I saw your lovely tart on your blog! It sounds delicious!

  13. Natalie says:

I am a Key Lime Pie purist. NEVER use Persian limes or bottled juice. I have found Key Limes at Target Greatland, and most recently, have purchased them in bulk (you can freeze the juice after you squeeze it) from my local grocer. Melissa’s Organic has them year round. Just ask in the produce dept. If you want the best most tart pie, you just can’t cheat !
