We are dashing around getting ready for Christmas—making cookies and other goodies, finishing up the shopping, doing school parties, making shepherd’s costumes, preparing for our trip to visit my parents. Even with all the hustle and bustle, we are enjoying ourselves especially since Michael is taking some well-deserved vacation time these next two weeks. The boys love having him around, and we had fun making pretzels together today.
I have a few more Christmas posts that will go up between now and December 24, but for now, a few announcements:
Grow Your Own #5 is still a go! I didn’t get it posted on some of the regular venues this month, but we’re still growing herbs in our kitchen and cooking with them, and I’m even experimenting with grape tomatoes to see if I can get them to grow indoors in the winter. So if you have already blogged about something you made with your own homegrown herbs, veggies, fruits, eggs, meat, or anything else I’ve missed, feel free to send it along! If you haven’t yet, you’ve still got time! Deadline for entries is December 29. Last month we had 17 participants from 8 countries. Wow!
Menu for Hope 4 is going strong and you have a few days left to participate. If you haven’t already contributed in some way, do consider supporting this worthy effort. This year’s fund raising will benefit the the World Food Programme’s work in Lesotho, where the WFP purchases grain from small local farmers and uses it in local programs, including one that provides school lunches. Last year the international food blogging community raised over $60,000 to help support the World Food Programme’s work in developing countries and feed those in need. What better present to give someone than hope? Tickets only cost $10 each and they make great stocking stuffers! Click here to participate.
And finally, The Daring Bakers are always up to something! Come back on December 23 to see what we made this month!

Hi Andrea, this is such a busy time for all of us I believe, so I want to wish you and your family a great Christmas. Hope 2008 is filled with love, health and happiness and even more success to your blogs! Take care. oxxoxo
