Yes, I’m actually making the Daring Bakers challenge right now! Anyone want to start a betting pool on whether or not I finish it and get some photos up before the midnight deadline? Anyone?
Update (9:40 pm EST): I’m not going to make it in time, so this will officially be the first DB challenge I am late for! The dough is in the refrigerator but it’s so hot and humid here it really needs the full overnight resting time before I shape it. Sometime tomorrow I will have a Danish braid to share. I will say the smells of the cardamom, orange, and vanilla are wonderful!
Well, I only did mine yesterday. If the kids will be good, you can do it.
My money’s on you, Andrea!

I agree with you on the scents of cardamom and orange… and the lovely flecks of color they add to the dough. Looking forward to seeing the finished product soon!
Oooh! I hope it worked out – it’s delicious! It was frustrating for me to work my dough when it was hot in my house too… Ugh. Fingers crossed for ya!
You know the braid would make a great breakfast for Canada Day. You could celebrate even if you aren’t Canadian and just say you were holding off on making it until you had the right occasion.
We still want to see pictures of the final result :-p

6:53 pm EST – It’s done! I just took it out of the oven and it’s cooling now. Will snap some photos and get my post up this evening! Whew!
