  3. Hi,

I cannot get my pizzelles to stay crispy. They become very soft. How can I get them to stay crispy? I put them in a covered container right after baking and I tried some when waiting to cool, they still went limp. If you are making a lot of pizzelles at one time, how can you get them crispy. Any help will be appreciate.

    Thanks,
    Barbara

This answer I’m sure is way too lae for you, but the thing to do is DON’T put them in a container. They get crispy by staying out.

I have found that if you use 1 tbsp of batter per cookie, it works great. Also, to keep them crisp try using empty washed out coffee cans. Usually the perfect size, and if you make a big batch like me every year (usually about 12 stacks, or about 144 cookies) this helps you then have packaging for Christmas gifts. ^_^ I have been making these cookies since I can remember, being Italian, and I know a lot of ins and outs. Thanks for visiting and for sharing your tips on pizzelles. This is our second year making them, and we figured out the 1 tablespoon measurement. I also came up with a chocolate version that we really like.

Pizzelles do make perfect gifts! People always “ooh” and “aah” when they see these.
