Cyber Monday 2009 Shopping Deals

You may already have a good start on your holiday shopping with some great Black Friday deals, but just in case you haven’t seen them already, here are a few more great deals for Cyber Monday.

Culinary Media Network’s Gilded Fork Gourmet Boutique has specials on Edge Brownie Pans and Tondo balsamic vinegar by the case. Ends Monday November 30.

Cooking.com has the KitchenAid Pro Line of appliances on sale for up to 40% off through December 2.

Chef’s Catalog has a smorgasbord of kitchen gear on sale, including bakeware, cookware, cutlery, electrics, tools, outdoor cooking, and tabletop. I even spotted KitchenAid mixer bowls, a great help for bakers. Also has a free shipping deal with purchases over $99.

King Arthur Flour currently has 56 items with free shipping.

Sur La Table has a 5 Day sale ending on Monday November 30 with deals on Wusthof, Shun, Breville, Cuisinart, and others. They also have many items with free shipping.

Amazon.com has 159 Cyber Monday deals in Home & Garden as well as Holiday Bonuses, Markdowns, and Buy More Save More deals on a wide variety of kitchen gear.

Williams-Sonoma has 40 Special Values items on sale.

New West Knifeworks Knife Sale

Earlier this year I reviewed a santoku knife from New West Knifeworks. I can’t say enough about how much I love this knife and how well it works. It’s a beautiful, functional work of art that maintains its edge well, and it has become my go to knife for most of my chopping.

New West Knifeworks has both their Phoenix Santoku knife and the Fusionwood Santoku knife on sale for 15% off through December 2. If you were thinking about giving good quality knives for holiday gifts, this is an opportunity to get some truly fabulous knives at a good price. And if you aren’t sure what kind of knives you really need in a kitchen, they have a helpful tutorial on the most common types of knives.

[I have no affiliate relationship with New West Knifeworks. I received one santoku knife in 2009 for review.]

Hot Shopping Tip: Lodge Color Enameled Cast-Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven

Lodge Enamel on Cast-Iron 6-Quart Dutch OvenThis deal popped into my radar just this morning, a good 6-quart enamel on cast-iron dutch oven from Lodge Manufacturing. Le Creuset has had a tight hold on the enameled cast-iron cookware market, but there are increasingly good quality, less expensive options from other manufacturers, and this is one of them. In January of this year, Cook’s Illustrated published another update to their original evaluation of Dutch ovens from 2005. They tested both the Tramontina 6.5 quart and Lodge Color 6 quart. They rated both of them well, with the Tramontina slightly edging out the Lodge for size and lower price.

Today I noticed Amazon has the Lodge version in the very nice Island Spice color on sale for 55% off, so you can get it for a great price at $34.99 with Free Super Saver Shipping. This one will not last long!

Hot Shopping Tip: Baking From My Home to Yours, by Dorie Greenspan

Baking: From My Home to Yours, by Dorie GreenspanI’ve previously mentioned Jessica’s Biscuit as a great site for cookbook shopping, and once again they have have come up with a fantastic deal. For a short time they have hardcover copies of Dorie Greenspan’s wonderful book Baking: From My Home to Yours for a steal at just $14.98. Cover price is $40.00, so this is an incredible deal. Dorie’s book won a James Beard award last year, and I love it. The recipes are geared for the home baker and they are fantastic. The Daring Bakers made her Perfect Party Cake in March, and the group Tuesdays with Dorie bakes one of these recipes every week. If you already have a copy, buy one anyway and give it to a friend who enjoys baking or wants to learn.

Highly recommended and a bargain price! What more could you want?

(NOTE: I do not have an affiliation with Jessica’s Biscuit, I just like their great deals!)
